Sunnyside Gardens was built in the 1920s as a planned community on the English garden-city model — brick row houses arranged around large shared interior courtyards, with private gardens backing onto communal green space held in common. It's landmarked, it's governed by rules about what residents can and can't alter, and the houses themselves are modest, well-built and full of original detail. The 7 stops at 46th Street–Bliss Street and 40th Street–Lowery Street.
